Frequently Asked Questions
SET GOALS
It sounds simple enough and perhaps even ideological. Goal setting is a great way of motivating people. The value of goal setting is well documented.
Whether your fundraiser is an individual or organizational event always keep your objective in site. No different than a company mission statement; have an irrevocable statement and call to action for your goals.
Example: Help Those in Need is running a 4 week fundraising drive in the local community to raise $20,000 for an extension to our local community hall and upgrade the kitchen facilities. Help Those in Need will be able to serve breakfast and dinner for community members in addition to the lunch program already offered. Help us help our community today by sponsoring our fundraiser drive.
Use of intermediate milestones and having them on display, such as a barometer etc will visually remind you of your goals.

It is great to have common goals, but what about each seller? Have your members set their own personal goals, you’ll be amazed the difference it will make.

BELIEF FACTOR AND KNOWLEDGE
One of the biggest factors in your fundraiser member’s success is belief in the cause and belief in the products being sold. Simply put sellers need to be motivated to sell. Use of rewards, bonuses, and prizes can assist in that motivation.
Here at Sweet Temptations we know we have awesome products. We should know; after all its taken years to perfect our recipes. As you use our fundraisers we want your sellers to know our products too. Contact us about providing you
with some samples. There’s nothing more powerful for you, and rewarding for
us, than having a seller enthusiastically saying, “You have to buy some of this, it tastes awesome”!
Knowledge of fundraising goals, profit margins and products are all important. Your sellers are more likely to be successful if they present themselves as informed, ready and able to field potential supporter’s questions. Knowledge builds credibility.

KEEP IT SIMPLE SWEET (K.I.S.S.)
When sales are involved K.I.S.S. often stand for “Keep it Short and Simple" or "Keep it Simple, Stupid". As Sweet Temptations is all about Fudge, Chocolates and your taste buds K.I.S.S. stands for “Keep it Simple Sweet”. Know what you are going to say before presenting your fundraiser.
KISS sales script:
- Hello, my name is .................
- I am representing ..............................................
- We are raising money to/for ..........................................
- We are offering fudges and chocolates from Sweet Temptations and 45% of each sale goes towards our cause (place the fundraiser flyer their hands.)
- Please help us reach our goal. What products would you like to purchase?
After taking their order be sure to thank them for their support.

EVEN WITH K.I.S.S. THEY SAY NO, WHAT NEXT?
Be polite, be prepared.
After asking for the sale for years with Sweet Temptations we have heard ALL the
"no excuses" in the world. So what are some common ones?
- I am on a diet, or if I buy it I’ll eat it all.
Suggest rather than buying it for themselves they could purchase something for friends or family. Re-ask for the sale with “We sure could use your support.”
Acknowledge that times are tough. Suggest that you will take checks that are postdated a few days out. Re-ask for the sale with “We sure could use your support.”
- I’ve already given to another group.
Acknowledge their charitable spirit. Comment that many groups are seeking additional funds in
these hard times. Re-ask for the sale with “We sure could use your support.”
- There are so many choices I cannot decide.
Yes we do have a large selection; Sweet Temptations likes to meet all our customers’ tastes. Suggest your favorite product and flavor and Re-ask for the sale with “Shall I order that for you”?
If the answer is still no thank them for their time and move on.
It’s better to get a quick no and move on rather than investing a lot of time on one sale and come out of it with nothing.
The more people you present the opportunity to the more likely you are to increase your sales.
Practice makes perfect. Roll-play what you are going to say to gain confidence. No matter what happens, know
that there is always another sale and raised funds with a "yes" just around the corner.

K.I.S.S. TIPS
- Keep it simply for the buyer. The easier their experience the more likely they are to purchase from you in the future. Offer to fill out the form for them while they have the flyer in their hand.
- Suggest products that would be great as gifts. Eg: A Turtle Pretzel would be great as a gift for your grand daughter.

MOTIVATING INCENTIVES
The importance of using incentives that matches your sellers cannot be underestimated; having a teacher shave his beard maybe enthralling to a 10 year old but just stupid to a 16 year old. Remember these are the people that are going to help you reach your goal. Don’t be afraid to engage local community support in prizes. Businesses will often show their support by offering something as a prize. A free haircut at the local salon, free tire rotation at the local tire dealership, a free CD from the local music store. Get creative and you will reap the benefits.
Suggestions:
- Top Seller: Give a prize to your top seller. For instance: a gift card, movie tickets, cash or anything else that inspires your
members.
-
Order form completion: We often suggest offering a prize for completion of the first side of our order form. Make this something that fits your budget. We can provide at wholesale cost our own products. So for example complete the first side of our order from and receive a container of fudge, your choice.
-
First to complete this goal: Set some goals like this first person to have $300 in sales, or the first person to hand in a fully filled out order from (front and back).

JUST WHO AND WHERE ARE MY SUPPORTERS?
Define who your prospects are. There’s not much point in trying to sell apples to a farmer with acres of apple orchards in his back yard. Fortunately for you most people enjoy fudge or chocolates! Brainstorm with your team their likely markets: Family, friends, neighbors, teachers, local businesses, co-workers. Don’t forget the staff at the local library. If it’s a
school fundraiser have students ask their parents to check with their employers and see if they can offer the flyer at work. With the
Fundraiser that Never Stops your market is the whole USA so don’t forget all
of your internet connections. If you are going door to door for sales, please be safe.
Don’t leave home without your flyer and order form in hand. For example: you go to the store and bump into a friend.
Perfect! You have the flyer in your bag. Ask for the sale. you never know when and where the next opportunity
will arise! Create the opportunity; passive posture will yield you little if any
sales.
Asked for referrals. This is powerful! Does your sponsor/ buyer know anyone else who loves fudge and would like to support your cause?

DON’T FORGET TO SAY THANK YOU
So you have reached you goal, now what?
You need to let your supporters know this and your plans in acting on your ultimate goal. Just importantly you need to thank them for their involvement. Without those sales, without those supporters you have gained nothing. Every individual and organization enjoys being given praise and
empowered with the knowledge that they count.
Traditional Fundraisers will often have addresses and individual supporter’s details. Follow up with these people. For online sales you can discuss with our staff several options in how to reach out to those that participated.
Don’t forget to congratulate and thank your own members who put in the hard work of beating the pavement for your cause!
Being thankful pays huge dividends:
- Instills a sense of pride and accomplishment within your origination and energizes them for the current projects at hand and further efforts in the future.
- Cultures a lasting relationship with your supporters; now that they know you are movers and successful shakers they will rejoice in that success and be more inclined to donate in the future.

WE REACHED OUR GOAL, SO NOW WHAT?
- Implement: After all the whole purpose of raising funds was for a common goal. Now you have the funds to achieve what you started out to accomplish. Communicate your next moves; again let everyone know without their help your cause would not move forward.
- What worked what did not: Evaluate your fundraiser efforts from all aspects. Sales, marketing, advertising, volunteers, product and delivering to name a few. Store this information for future fundraisers and next time you will be even more prepared and successful.
- Follow up with us: At Sweet Temptations we pride ourselves on our quality products and service. Let us know how we did. We ask of all our fundraising groups to provide us a 2-4 sentence experience for furthering our marketing. Also we will provide feedback to you on what worked and did not work from our perspective.

WHY UTILIZE “THE FUNDRAISER THAT NEVER STOPS!”
- Innovation: A regular fundraiser has a start and finish date. Typically they last for 2 – 4 weeks and at the end of it you are done until the next time. But with Sweet Temptations Fundraisers your account remains active. Anytime someone visits our website using your unique link your group or organization continues to raise funds on their sales!
- Expanded Audience: Your organization can then campaign via newsletters, email, corporate intra and internet sites, corporate or social networks to drive traffic to our website. Your audience is no longer bound by your local geographical area; it’s now the whole United States. Members can reach out to potential supporters, family and friends all around the USA. We ship for you.
- Multiple Shipping Destinations: Sweet Temptations allows online account holders to configure up to 5 Address Book locations. This means supporters can purchase products but have then shipped to someone else. An ideal present for loved ones spread across the country!
- No more left holding the bag: We process orders as they come in.
There is need for you to hold any product and find you cannot sell it. You are paid on every product sold large or small.
- More Options: Paper and printing costs limits the number and
variety of products we can offer through a Traditional Fundraisers. Online we have a larger
selection of products and the ability to customize orders for our client’s tastes.
- It happens just like that: A recent client of ours raising funds for a missions trip to Guyana commented “It was the easiest Fundraiser she’d ever done”. Why? There was little effort and time invested into her success. A posting on
facebook, an email here and a IM there and she was done! We can track your conversion rate: sales per visitor.
- We handle the processing of orders: Traditional Fundraisers require you to collect individual orders, collect monies, tabulate sales, order products, receive products and deliver products. Sweet Temptations online presence releases you many of these menial and sometimes frustrating fundraising road blocks. You provide us the traffic, supporters purchase products, we track those sales for you and provide you a check with your percentage of the sale. Done!
- No Start-Up Cost: Your online account and unique web link is setup for free. As soon as you drive traffic to our website and these convert into sales your are in the money!
